St Andrew’s Church

Vision for Improvements

Our vision for this building is to create a warm and welcoming environment for all the young families attending our initiatives. Taking on such an old building required a new energy strategy and so much more…

  • Roof

    Before any refurbishments could be started, urgent roof repairs we’re completed to make the build dry and pigeon free.

  • Heating

    Our defunct gas boilers have been replaced with a new Air Source Heating solution that is already efficiently keeping us warm.

  • Electrics

    A complete rewiring of the building has provided us with more sockets, external lighting, a fire system and a solid infrastructure for more.

  • Toilets

    Our single period toilet wasn’t intended to serve so many, so our new toilet block has seen the Vestry turned into 5 lovely new toilets.

  • Flooring

    To provide a warm and comfortable environment to all our kids and vistors, a large part of the Naive will be carpeted.

  • Doors

    To make our space more accessible and welcoming, automatic glass doors would create an open, transparent space.

Progress so far

PRESENT Our vestry has been completely transformed and now only just weeks away from completion we can't wait to have accessibility facilities, baby change and 4 new unisex toilets to make all our guests comfortable.

MAY After a few years of walking everything over from the hall kitchen, we now have running water and drainage in the church servery. With work still required to tile and build out the cupboards, this is already a game changer for our hospitality

OCT 2023 Extensive work was carried out on the church roof to repair it, with the bell tower being restored and drainage goods being rubbed down, fixed and repainted

SEP 2023 Our listed boundary wall needed urgent repairs as it was leaning into the road. Lovely restored with the original stones by our conservation builders.

OCT 2021 When we took on St Andrew's the church was only being used as a Food Bank, so we had a period of clearing the space as we adopted the building from Paignton Parish
